Recap gamescom 2018

For almost a full week, gamescom is taking over Cologne with all its side-events. Again with a new visitor record of 370.000 people, gamescom is the most important game event in Germany every year. To add to that impressive record, gamescom celebrated its tenth anniversary in Cologne this year.

In the middle of all this games-related madness: The Games/Bavaria community booth on board with their partners, providing a small oasis (in Bavarian terms: a Biergarten) in the busy B2B part of gamescom. As part of the “Made in Germany” in hall 3.2., this year twelve companies joined the Games/Bavaria community booth. The booth’s design resembled a traditional beer-garden, completed by a centerpiece “Maibaum”, displaying the logos of our partners.

Breakfast reception

The most important meal of the day may be debatable, but on every gamescom the “Bavarian Breakfast Reception” sure is the place to be on the second day of gamescom. Along with our partners, we invited associates and guests to a hearty breakfast. As it has become tradition, the community booth becomes a crowded place, bustling with impromptu meetings and opportunities to network. Robin Hartmann (WERK1.Bayern GmbH), Dorothee Erpenstein, CEO of the regional funding initiative FFF Bayern and Hendrik Lesser, Member of the board and managing director of Games Bavaria Munich e.V. greeted the guests, appreciating the work of many engaged players of the region the past and reassuring future co-operation between the parties in Bavaria.

Danke an unsere Teilnehmer

Again, a big thank you to all of our guests and partners: Travian Games, GPORTAL, TeamSpeak, FDG Entertainment, F + F Distribution, HandyGames, Optile, Bulkhead Darkhorse, TigerTeam Productions, GameInfluencer, S.A.D. and Mixtvision. It was a pleasure hosting your fine businesses at the booth and we are looking forward to your feedback.

Not to forget, a big shout-out to our partner in crime: media lounge. The team has planned, built and executed this year’s plan of action to our full satisfaction. Especially to Jenny, who could not have delivered a better gamescom debut. Thanks!

We are looking forward to a packed gamescom in 2019 as well, welcoming old and new members of the community booth.
